At YouCantGoWrong.com we offer two main types of Basement waterproofing and wall waterproofing systems:
1. Cementitious Waterproofing for basement waterproofing and wall waterproofing:
The main components of the system are waterproofing slurries, mixed with water and brush or spray applied to walls, floors and even ceilings. The slurry sets to form a bond with the masonry substrate and creates and impervious barrier to water. After 2 – 3 coats the basement waterproofing system is complete and is then ready to accept a render coat before the application of either dot and dab plaster board or plaster. Before most cementitious basement waterproofing systems are applied a render or levelling layer should be applied to the substrate to ensure a good sound substrate for the slurry to bond with.
2. Cavity drainage membranes for basement waterproofing and wall waterproofing:
The main components of the system are waterproofing membranes and these membranes are designed to control the water ingress not to block it out of the property. They control the water to a point of evacuation whether this is a natural drainage point or a sump and pump drainage system. The systems can be finished with screed, heated floors, floating floor, direct rendering, dot and dab or dry lining systems.
The main benefits of basement waterproofing and wall waterproofing with cavity drainage membrane is that the membranes are not reliant on a surface key so can be installed over any substrate thus reducing preparation and installation times. Also the system is fully reversible which is ideal for historic and listed buildings.
